Thousands of foreign
women work as domestic servants in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, these women are
subject to discrimination and are not paid well. The report by the American
Democratic Human Rights Commission (ADHRC) reveals that the Saudi system is
highly biased and does not provide equal employment opportunities to
non-citizen workers. It also shows that the work conditions are often abusive
and that workers are frequently subjected to sexual harassment and gender-based
harassment.
While the government is
taking steps to protect Saudi workers, its current labor laws are still
allowing migrant domestic workers to change jobs without their consent.
However, this is not a complete solution. The new employment law in Saudi
Arabia requires that employers attend two hearings and pay a penalty. There is
no legal way to enforce the rights of migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. The new
law does not ensure the safety of migrant workers.
Currently, Saudi women
are unable to prove that they are being abused or exploited. They are often
beaten, humiliated, and sexually assaulted by their employers. They are also
unable to leave the country without the approval of their sponsors. Therefore,
Saudi citizens will continue to abuse female domestic workers until it is too
late. Even if the Saudi government enacts reforms and introduces new laws,
these policies are likely to remain in place in the foreseeable future.
In addition to the
above laws, Saudi women should have more freedom to choose the type of domestic
employment they desire. There are many ways to find employment in Saudi Arabia,
and a better solution is to hire more local workers. For instance, Saudi women
should not be forced to perform domestic work for wealthy individuals. Instead,
they should work in places where women are not employed. This will ensure that
these women are not deprived of their rights.
There are many other
laws that must be enforced in order to make domestic labor in Saudi Arabia more
humane. Despite the fact that Saudi women do not have equal rights, they must
be paid as a result of their job. Furthermore, they should be required to
respect the employer's privacy and confidentiality. For example, women must not
violate the rights of the employer, or violate the dignity of his or her
family.
The Saudi government is
also not doing enough to protect women. Women must be free to claim their
rights and not have to work illegally. They should be able to stay in the
country, but they cannot prove that they were sexually assaulted or abused. If
you want to work legally, you should be allowed to tell your employer that you
are working illegally. If you are being abused or overworked, you can't leave
the country.
